THRACE. Philippopolis. Commodus, 177-192. Assarion (Bronze, 22 mm, 4.50 g, 7 h). ΑΥΤ ΚΑΙ Μ ΑYΡΗ ΚΟΜΟΔΟС Bareheaded, draped and cuirassed bust of Commodus to right, seen from behind. Rev. ΦΙΛΙΠΠΟΠΟΛΕΙ[T] Emperor on horseback to right, holding spear in his right hand. RPC IV.1 -. Varbanov 971. Very rare and in exceptional condition. Somewhat smoothed, otherwise, nearly extremely fine.
